Help Identying This Piece...

Recommended Posts

Ah. You have one of my favorite Frankoma pieces -- a #12 Ringed Vase. This piece was produced from 1936 to 1938, and the "cat mark" stamp on the bottom of your piece is very well defined. The glaze on your vase is Texas Brown. Frankoma changed the name Texas Brown to Osage Brown sometime in 1938 (probably after the fire that destroyed the plant), but only the name changed; the glaze color was the same. Your little vase is at least 70 years old. That, plus the fact that it was in production for only two years, makes it one of the rarer pieces of Frankoma. Book value is $175-200, and worth every penny.
