Here's a great Buttermilk Pie recipe from the Texas Cooking cookbook. It's at This particular recipe makes two pies, but it's easy to cut it in half if you only want one.

I have a great Vinegar Pie recipe, too, but I don't have it with me right now. I'll get it for you and post it.

Here's the Vinegar Pie recipe:

1 9-inch baked pie crust

1/2 cup butter (1 stick)

2 cups sugar

4 eggs, separated

1/4 cup vinegar

Beat the egg whites with an electric mixer at high speed until stiff. Set aside.

In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Add well-beaten egg yolks and vinegar, stirring to combine. Gently fold in the egg whites, and pour filling into pie shell.

Bake in a 350-degree preheated oven for approximately 45 minutes, or until filling sets.
