Honey Recipes

This is a great recipe for tasty, tangy baked chicken.

2 to 3 pounds chicken parts (breasts, thighs, drumsticks, whatever)

1/2 cup honey

1 cup barbecue sauce

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1 large onion, chopped

1 lime, thinly sliced

Salt and pepper to taste

Sprinkle the chicken with salt and pepper, and arrange in a 9x13-inch baking dish. In a small bow, combine the honey, barbecue sauce, lemon juice and onion. Pour the honey sauce over the chicken, cover dish and refrigerate for at least four hours.

Remove dish from refrigerator and allow it to come up almost to room temperature. Arrange lime slices over chicken.

Bake uncovered at 325F degrees for 40 minutes. Increase oven temp to 350F, turn chicken pieces over, and bake an additional 20 minutes or until done. Test by piercing thickest pieces with fork to make sure juices run clear.
