Homebased Food Sales

I'm hoping to talk with people who have experience making food products for sale out of their homes. I have two sauce recipes that I would like to market, but complying with all of the requirements (trademarking, health department etc.) is proving to be time consuming and cash consuming for something that I'm not even sure how to market. I have a family barbecue sauce recipe that and a seafood sauce recipe. I get raves on both when I make them for friends. The seafood sauce particularly will put anything that local seafood restaurants serve to shame. If anyone that reads this has experience and advice, I would love to hear from you.
