Tres Leches Frosting

I recently tried tres leches cake at Paloma Blanca in Alamo Heights, San Antonio. It was very good.

Every recipe I have found calls for a merringue frosting. The one I tasted had what I think

is coconut, walnuts or pecans as a frosting. How would I make that instead of a merringue or

whipping cream frosting? Thanks.
