Factory Sticker On Frankoma Pieces

Recommended Posts

If you collect Frankoma, you are familiar with the round, scalloped-edge, gold Frankoma sticker that is sometimes found on pieces of the art pottery. Ebay sellers usually picture the sticker prominently and are sure to mention it in their description, as if the presence of the sticker enhances value. But does it really? fr_sticker1.jpg

Frankhoma is well documented in a number of books, and most pieces are clearly backstamped with a maker's mark. So, in the vast majority of cases a sticker is not necessary to establish origin. Also, of all the gorgeous pieces of Frankoma I have seen pictured in books, not one of them bears a sticker.

So, what about you? Would you pay more for a piece of Frankoma if it had the sticker on it?
