Frankoma #233

Recommended Posts

I bought a prairie green bowl marked Frankoma 233 several years ago at auction. It caught my eye as far as it size, shape (one side higher than the other) and color. I can't find any info as to age? value? or have yet to find any additional matching 233 bowls.

Can anyone provide me with some info? Thanks!

The #233 bowl was made by Frankoma from 1955 to 1963. All were made of Sapulpa clay, rather than the Ada clay in older pieces. Book value (The Collector's Guide to Frankoma Pottery by Gary V.Schaum) for this piece is $5.00-6.00. Although its monetary value is small, this little bowl is one of my favorite pieces from the Free Forms collection. I hope you enjoy your bowl.
