Chilie Types And Their Uses

Recommended Posts

When I go into my grocery store I see about six types of chilies. Arbol, the small thin green or dried red one is used for Bean Dishes at a rate of about five per three cups of pintos. But what are the others used for, especially the dried flat red ones and the bigger than your finger green tapered ones that you boil or blacken and trim up.

The Jalipeno we all know. Is there a good book just of Chilies?

My mother 75, just subscribed to a magazine called "Chili Pepper". I am going to look through hers and see what I come up with as far as peppers and their types and uses. My favorite peppers are poblano and jalapenos. Hopefully I will be able to grow some this year.
